A lifelong love of needlework and an obsessive love of fabric collided with my artistic nature. I am a fiber artist… fabric is my "paint" and I draw with needle and thread. My work is inspired by reflecting on the influences of everyday life…the things that press in demanding to be seen or felt. These impressions are interpreted in saturated colors and innovative techniques, quite often containing hidden symbolism. Mostly my pieces are created with fabric of my own design: hand dyed, painted, discharged, batiked, or even rusted. My work ranges from gallery pieces to commission work to smaller gift items.
